The Gateway Brown’s Creek Trail Association welcomes the growth of e-bike use as a means of bringing more people of all ages and abilities to the trails. At the same time, we also recognize the new challenges to our objective of improving safety for everyone. Through persistent educational efforts and increasing awareness of trail safety guidelines, we are aiming to address a subset of unsafe e-bike riders, as well as calling out illegal e-moto activity on the trail. Going forward, our intention is to work cooperatively with the Mn DNR, Washington and Ramsey Counties, as well as trailside communities, to promote trail safety guidelines and enforce the relevant Minnesota statutes for e-bikes and e-motos on multi-use trails.
